Yes, I’m uploading some CC for once! I’ve been working on this for a while after I finally finished overhauling my downloads, and I’m ready to dive into my gargantuan folder of possible projects!







Fade Away and Radiate - Pets Atomic Defaults & Recolors and Grungy Mid-Century Wallpapers

So... I went even further with the mid-century modern theme, and decided to do some defaults & recolors of the Pets Atomic set. As per usual with my recolors, it started getting a bit out of hand, so consider this Part 1 of a series I will continue in the future 😁

As I said before, I was recently reminded of how much I love the retro-futurism aesthetic (I'm not really a Disney person but when I went to Disney World as a kid I loved Tomorrowland). And I also love pastels, and bright red, and teal, and those colors were popular in 1950s interior design. So I put together a selection of 12 colors that I felt suits the mid-century vibe while adhering to my own vibrant color preferences.

Sofa (Super Settee by Sputnix Furnishings): 4 frame recolors (light & dark wood, black & white metal, all with chrome legs) and 26 upholstery recolors (with & without coordinating patterned pillows, in the aforementioned colors plus black). I wanted to use a new wood texture for the frame but the mapping on this dang thing is impossible, so I blended a little into the Maxis textures and tweaked the light wood color to be less yellow. Shasta's CEP is included, which repo's the loveseat to the sofa. The only caveat is that the pillowed recolors will show up (sans pillows) on the loveseat so you'll have doubles, but it saves from having separate recolors for both meshes. I've also taken the liberty of editing Michelle's Atomicles Armchair so it works with the CEP and pulls textures from the sofa.

Living Chair (E-to-the-Z Chair) & Lounge (Lounge-O-Rama by Nucular Novelties): The same 4 frame recolors and 13 upholstery recolors. I adjusted the color of the legs subset on the lounge to match the chrome on the others because the original showed up brighter for some reason.

Floor (Asteroid Standing Lamp) & Table Lamps (Neo Lighto by Glucolux): 12 glass & 12 shiny base recolors, each file recolors both lamps. I kept the original black, white, & chrome bases and black & white glass for the defaults, the other glass colors are replaced.

TV (Futur-Vu by Vidioblast): 2 woods & 12 colors. The woods match the seating frame recolors (WHY did the original dark wood have that godawful greenish tinge?) I kept the original black TV and brightened the white one for the defaults, the other 2 colors are replaced.

Dining Chair (Nuclear Family Dining Chair by Nucular Novelties): 14 upholstery recolors (the same 12 plus black & white). I kept the original black, white, & chrome frames for the defaults.

Dining Table (Beta Fomicron Dining Table): 12 shiny base recolors. I didn't make a default for this one since I liked the original bases as is.

Wall Clock (Moonshot Thruster Clock): 12 recolors. I got rid of the yellowish hue on the center and spokes. I tweaked the metal texture on the spokes but it's not really noticeable. For the default, I kept the dark wood & black recolor because it's ridiculously mid-century, but edited the textures a bit.

Once I finished the object recolors, I realized I needed some suitable wallpaper. So I made 20 grungy but colorful wallpapers with mid-century/Atomic Age motifs. Some of these patterns match the pillows on the sofa.
